We’re now searching for a Manager, Investment Sales to lead in the member acquisition process for our private investor club, Unreasonable Collective. The Manager will be tasked with facilitating the end to end acquisition process of Unreasonable Collective - sourcing, screening, pitching and closing of new members into the investor club. This role is all about focus and execution. We are looking for an investment sales agent that is headstrong on growing the Unreasonable Collective’s membership base to prove out the model and ensure we have the capital necessary to provide valuable syndicate investments to our ventures. We will know we’re on the right track when editors of major publications and organizers of gatherings like TED and Davos approach us as the go-to leaders in what it takes to build one of the most purposeful and effective investment communities on the planet.

Strategic Objectives

  • Lead and execute across all four phases of member acquisition efforts (sourcing, screening, pitching, and closing) to build the membership base of Unreasonable’s private investor community, the Unreasonable Collective. 

  • Serve as the primary sales person charged with reaching the Collective’s 2021 paying membership goal: 200 net new paying members by December 1, 2021. 

Key Components of the Member Acquisition Process

  • SOURCING through primary and secondary research identify new external leads; activate our current global network of 400+ Mentors & Specialists, transforming them into thriving and engaged investors

  • SCREENING by assessing the vitality of the potential member and their alignment with the values and mission of the organization with a strong focus on diversity, inclusion and global identity;

  • PITCHING the value of the Collective to each potential member, capturing the return on investment potential and the possible impact for the investor and the ventures we support;

  • CLOSING the potential members and converting their interest into paying Community Members. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the MD of Investments and the Director, Global Portfolio and Investments develop, document, and continually evolve a strategy for Collective Member acquisition across inbound, outbound, and referral pipelines

  • Responsible for closing 200 new paying members in 2021. 

    • 100 new Members closed by June 1, 2021 

      • 60 inbound/network referral; responsible for pitching and closing 

      • 40 outbound - sourced external of existing Unreasonable Community and independent of other team member efforts; responsible for sourcing, screening, pitching, and closing 

  • Maintain meticulous documentation of the sales pipeline indicating the stage and source of each lead in the CRM 

  • Build and maintain a pipeline robust enough to sustain pitching at minimum 5 new members per day, with obsessive but approachable follow up and follow through 

  • Prepare and share weekly status reports with the MD of Investments, CEO, and COO on membership pipeline developments and conversion rates

  • Create and manage internal referral process to ensure teammates understand and follow a set process for converting their contacts to Collective Members

  • Lead in the development of and own the management of Collective Membership sales promotional materials, pitch decks, and proposals in accordance with Unreasonable’s brand guidelines

APPLICATION TIMELINE 

  • February 18th: Application goes live.

  • March 1st: Your application is due.

  • March 3rd - 4th: If you are invited to the next round of the process, we will schedule a 20 minute phone call with you.

  • March 4th - 10th​: We will give select applicants a small “trial project” representative of the type of work associated with this position. Though we will give you 5 days to finish your "trial project," it should only take a few hours to complete.

  • March 15th - 19th: Assuming both of us want to continue exploring the potential of working together, we'll invite you to interview with our team.

  • March 22nd - 23rd​: We will conduct reference checks on the two to three most compelling applicants for this position.

  • March 25th: Assuming you made it through the reference checks, you will be notified whether or not the position is yours.

  • April 5th: Ideally, those accepted will be able to join the company no later than April 5th, 2021.
