Advancement Grants Manager / Institutional Partnerships Manager 

 Reports To: Chief Advancement Officer 

Exempt Status: Salaried, Exempt 

Type: Full-time, On-going 

Base of Operations: Austin, TX with remote work opportunities 

Travel Expectations: Candidates must reside in Texas with ability to travel to Austin Office as needed, at minimum once per quarter if located outside of the Central Texas area. 

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000, based on experience

CACTX has become a national leader in providing best-practice, evidence-based services to children impacted by abuse, serving nearly 1 million children statewide, through a statewide network of children’s advocacy centers. We have recently scaled our vision to eradicate child sexual abuse and are growing our Advancement team to support our organization’s multi-year, multi-generational journey into this work.

 Description: The Institutional Partnerships Manager will steward, maintain, and grow $88 million in public and foundation funding for CACTX and partners, including the Texas children’s advocacy center (CAC) network. This role works collaboratively with business units across CACTX to identify, understand, and procure resource needs to achieve multi-year goals in furtherance of CACTX’s vision to Eradicate Child Sexual Abuse in Texas. 

 Essential Job Functions: 

  • Shepherd a portfolio of more than $88M in state and federal funds, including writing grant applications, assisting with promotion of grant awards, coordinating all grant reporting activities, managing associated grant timelines, and facilitating grant close out. 

  • Partner with business units across the organization to gather and synthesize inputs, outcome measures, and supporting documentation for the grant application and reporting process for more than $6M in CACTX operating funds. 

  • Work in alignment with the Financial Initiatives business unit which manages more than $82M in public pass-through funding.  

  • Work in alignment with the Finance business unit to assess grant funding restrictions, develop grant budgets, ensure timely submission of fiscal reports, and produce budget amendments as needed. 

  • Collaborate with the Finance business unit and the Vice President of Financial Initiatives on relationship cultivation and communications strategy with grant related contacts at partner agencies and organizations. 

  • Develop and manage a strategic approach to identifying, soliciting, and stewarding public and foundation grant opportunities with current and new partners. 

  • Implement strategy and process to scan for and pursue new transformational partnerships with public and foundation partners to support identified organizational and partner needs. 

  • Support the Chief Advancement Officer with research and the development and packaging of federal and state appropriations requests. 

  • Work with Strategic Initiatives and Finance business units to assess developing organizational and partner needs. 

  • Leverage research, data, and narrative to create strategic and compelling illustrations of need and funding requests. 

  • Collaborate with the Communications business unit to develop content and materials as needed to engage and steward public and foundation partners. 

  • Design scalable processes and optimize technology systems to catalogue and track processes across all major grants.  

  • Partner with the Advancement business unit to develop plans and strategies to meet organizational revenue goals and steward partners.   

  • Maintain confidentiality of funder, donor, and budget information.   

  • Support other Advancement activities as needed. 

 Required Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in grant writing, technical writing, or fund development. Years of relevant experience may be substituted for educational requirements. A relevant Master’s degree or other advanced degree may also substitute for experience.  

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to distill complex information concisely and craft coherent, persuasive narratives with data and storytelling techniques.  

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. 

  • Skill in working and connecting with a diverse group of colleagues and partners. 

  • Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously, work independently under tight deadlines, prioritize responsibilities, and identify and resolve conflicts in a timely and appropriate manner. 

  • Mastery of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. 

  • Candidates must reside in Texas and have reliable transportation with the ability to travel to Austin, TX as needed.  We have invested in technology, facilities, and infrastructure to allow staff to have the flexibility to work remotely but also have a collaborative physical office space that fosters connectivity. 

  • Must have reliable and effective internet connectivity to fulfill job duties remotely.

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Background or subject matter expertise in child abuse issues. 

  • Desire to work within a fast-paced, change-oriented, optimistic, “fail-forward” culture and professional environment.  

  • Experience working with non-profit.
