This role will initially be a 23-month fixed-term contract and based in one of our digital office locations where we offer a hybrid-approach to working. 

What you’ll do as a User Researcher 

  • plan, design and conduct innovative user research activities to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of our policies and services 

  • conduct usability testing ensuring our insight and understanding is built from the widest range of users, including users with accessibility requirements 

  • articulate your research findings to influence the decisions of those you work with 

  • Use various approaches to share your user research widely to embed a deep appreciation of user needs - Craft your user research outputs to ensure the best uptake by different audiences, ensuring it cuts through in busy and fast-moving environments 

  • establish collaborative working practices with content designers, product managers and developers, turning your user research findings into stories and actions that lead to valuable service improvements and solutions 

  • build user-centred practices in new teams 

  • align user research activities with wider plans to inform a service proposition  

    What we’re looking for 

  • passion for the role of user insight in the development and refinement of ideas 

  • confidence in advocating for user research and wider user centred design methods in all phases of design 

  • Experience of deploying a range of user research methods, techniques for analysis of research data, synthesis of findings  

  • Experience of presenting clear, concise findings that are tailored to the audience and it’s needs 

  • experience planning and doing continuous user research in a multidisciplinary team 

  • experience of involving your team in research activities, analysis, and synthesis
