Job Description
Comic Relief reserves the right to close the role early if a large number of applications are received.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
You will be an integral part of a close-knit, four-person team dedicated to Internal Systems and Office Facilities. The role requires daily cooperation and knowledge-sharing with your colleagues to ensure all systems are reliable, scalable, and fully optimised to meet the organisation’s evolving technical needs. Providing workspace, infrastructure and software support to the staff body organisation, with the aim of maintaining and improving the efficiency of the organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Support & Operations
Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support, onsite and remotely, acting as a key escalation point for complex hardware (laptops, mobiles, printers) and software issues.
Meticulously document all incidents, service requests, and their resolutions within the IT helpdesk system.
Configure and deploy new hardware and software in line with company standards, utilising tools such as Intune Autopilot.
Develop and maintain user-friendly onboarding guides and deliver technical training to empower users.
System & Security Management
Ensure high system and infrastructure availability through proactive monitoring.
Manage the security and lifecycle of all corporate endpoints (desktops, laptops, mobile) using Microsoft Intune and tools provided.
Administer the complete user lifecycle, including on-boarding, off-boarding, and access permissions, using Azure Entra and the resources available.
Proactively manage system maintenance, including application and OS patching, to mitigate security risks and ensure stability.
Collaboration & Improvement
Uphold ITIL best practices and company security policies in all activities.
Actively contribute with the Internal Systems team on IT projects and initiatives
Manage relationships with third-party vendors to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for continual service improvement in IT processes.
Foster a collaborative environment by working effectively with all internal teams and departments.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Experience of providing support in a complex and challenging business environment.
Customer Service Excellence and Communication: Highly skilled in managing client expectations and ensuring a positive experience by clearly explaining intricate technical issues in business-focused, accessible language
Collaborative worker with the ability to work closely with other staff members.
Effective relationship builder with ability to maintain strong positive engagements with the rest of the organisation.
Outstanding desktop support skills-ability to support a user-centric function with operational excellence at its heart.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
ITIL Knowledge, familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts like Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management.
CyberSecurity knowledge and experice, CompTIA Security Plus or similar certification with a foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts.
Scripting (PowerShell), Ability to write basic scripts to automate repetitive tasks (e.g., user onboarding, reporting, batch updates) to improve efficiency.
