Job Description

Calling all Bid Co-ordinators! Let us tell you what makes this opportunity different to any other… We will be celebrating our 50th anniversary next year, so let’s just say our Work-winning Team is doing something right. The rapid growth of the Carey Group has seen the evolution of our Work-winning Team, who now tender for up to 500 projects a year from £100k to £80m for a variety of clients, sectors, and regions. How many people can say they were involved in ‘postcard’ projects such as V&A Museum, Aberdeen Conference Centre, Ferrybridge (EfW), Macallan Distillery, Woodsmith Mine and the University of Glasgow...? You could!

As Bid Co-ordinator with Carey Group, you will join a growing company and have the opportunity to progress your career within a supportive, creative and expanding department.

Your Role:

Based from our brand new office in central Glasgow and reporting to the Proposal Manager, you will work alongside an experienced pre-construction team and technical/operational experts to compile pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), expressions of interest to clients, tenders, responses to clarification questions and post-tender responses.

About You:
  • Flexibility and resilience to work across a range of clients, sectors and regions and within strict deadlines.
  • Creativity and confidence to challenge the status quo, consistently seeking to raise the bar despite the everyday challenge of maintaining business as usual. With your desire for ‘process improvement through collaboration’ you will bring fresh ideas to the team to adapt and build upon our existing tender processes, information databases, and library of technical information.
  • Collaborative and inquisitive – A hunger to seek out and absorb information.
  • Bids/tendering experience – Construction industry experience is not essential, however, bids/tendering experience would be preferred.
  • Organisation and precision – Every tender is different, despite consistent themes and elements. CRM management and reporting is a core responsibility within this role, calling for an uncompromised focus on quality and attention to detail. Working with the Proposals Manager, you will explore client drivers and choose appropriate material to include in responses.
Benefits/Details:
  • 37.5 hour week. Monday - Thursday, 09.00am to 5.30pm (1 hour lunch). Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm (½ hour lunch).
  • 26 days holiday per annum (*Plus Bank Holidays)
  • Competitive benefits package
