The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is a world-leading global consulting organisation. We are a trusted advisor to governments and organisations around the world, having been established as the world’s first ‘Nudge Unit’ in 2010.

We believe that if you understand how people make decisions in the real world, you can design and deliver better policies and services. So we draw on the lessons from the behavioural sciences to design creative, low cost and scalable solutions.

We are also committed to using and generating evidence, so we test out our insights using techniques like randomised controlled trials before they are scaled.

Our portfolio of work continues to grow, and as a result we’re now looking for an Associate Advisor to join us. Associate Advisors are typically graduates and post-graduates who have one to two years’ work or research experience, although we are open to candidates with a range of work experience.

About You

We’re looking for someone passionate about applying the lessons from the behavioural sciences to design better policies and services.

Most of our team have a degree in economics, psychology, research methods, and/or a background in government policymaking. However, if you don’t exactly fit this mould, that’s OK! We would like you to have an understanding of the behavioural science literature, and if you are passionate about this field we encourage you to apply.

What you will be doing

As an Associate Advisor, you will:

• Assist in the design and delivery of projects across a broad range of policy areas.

• Develop expertise in BI-relevant policy knowledge and/or research methodology.

• Prepare content for and attend client meetings.

• Deliver training and presentations.

• Undertake research and write draft reports.

• Prepare draft policy papers, trial checklists, ideas notes, and literature reviews.

• Conduct quantitative and/or qualitative research.

Although the role is challenging, we provide a supportive environment where you can develop your skills and knowledge in this fast-evolving field. We offer flexible working arrangements and other policies to support the health and wellbeing of everyone on the team.
