The Role

Do you have a passion for creating great social media? Do you enjoy the buzz of big media and political stories? And are you looking to develop your strategic communications skills in a multi-discipline public relations team?

If so, this could be the job for you. You’ll be based in the media and external relations section of Camden Council’s communications team and primarily responsible for the day-to-day output of social and digital media, working under the guidance of our channel and media managers.

In this role you will create and manage content through all digital channels so you will have a good understanding of how to target audiences through a variety of channels and content. This will include supporting the team with other digital products including e-newsletters, online videos and the Council’s website.

You will work with experienced press officers and the senior media manager to produce news releases, interview briefing notes and responses to media enquiries.

Finally, you will have a strong will to work in a local organisation at the forefront of helping the renewal and recovery from Covid-19.

You’ll be an imaginative and a keen writer, be adaptable and have the initiative to take on a wide variety of project work. You’ll also have a keen news and political awareness – and be as interested in the story and campaign, as the channel.

You will be a highly creative and extremely customer-focused individual who has experience of developing good relationships with various teams and services across an organisation.

You will also be an experienced problem solver who can work on their own initiative and with others, and possess excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.

This is a great opportunity for the right person. For more information please refer to the job profile.
