POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Sustainability, the Sustainability Coordinator will support the development of Corporate and site Sustainability programs, projects and initiatives. In this role, the Sustainability Coordinator will strengthen Eldorado’s Corporate Sustainability performance through the development and maintenance of systems, reports and disclosures.  The Sustainability Coordinator has strong communications skills, is eager to learn and has a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sustainability Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate the data collection and analysis of environmental, social and governance (ESG) data for public disclosure through the use of internal data systems as well as software systems

  • Ensure that data collection processes and systems are maintained and work to continuously improve ESG data availability across the organization

  • Coordinate the publication of Eldorado’s annual Sustainability Report in accordance with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) requirements

  • Support the data collection, analysis and drafting of Eldorado’s suite of sustainability disclosures including the Conflict-Free Gold Report, CDP Reporting, Responsible Gold Mining Principles Report and other disclosures and publications as needed

  • Coordinate with Communications, Investor Relations and other corporate functions to develop materials, including presentations, social media posts, blogs, and other multi-media forms to support the publication of sustainability-related disclosures

  • Support Eldorado’s on-going implementation and alignment to international standards including the Mining Association of Canada’s Towards Sustainable Mining program, and the World Gold Council’s Responsible Gold Mining Principles

  • Support the maintenance and implementation of Eldorado’s Sustainability Integrated Management System

  • Maintain relationships with corporate and site-based teams to monitor and report internally on sustainability-related matters

  • Maintain a strong understanding of environmental and social performance matters in the mining industry including community relations, relationships with Indigenous Peoples, human rights, tailings management, water management and climate change

  • Perform other administrative duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Specific skills and experiences required include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as geography, sociology, political science, environmental science, business, or other areas associated with sustainability

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a role related to sustainability, communications, environmental management, or other functions with a demonstrated record of strong writing abilities

  • A demonstrated interest in sustainability-related issues

  • Experience working in a corporate or professional setting, preferably in the mining industry

  • Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as appropriate for the needs of varied audiences

  • Ability to handle projects and workstreams independently

  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a range of internal stakeholders based across Eldorado’s operating jurisdictions, including senior management

  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting and disclosure including SASB, GRI, TCFD and other frameworks preferable but not required

  • Willingness to travel (0-25%)
