Job Description
About the Centre for Public Impact
We are a global not-for-profit with a fast-growing, highly motivated team working worldwide to promote a more effective and more legitimate government. Our mission is to reimagine government so it works better for all people. Launched in 2017, our North America team has grown rapidly and has built partnerships with leading impact organizations.
We need a motivated, experienced and reliable Finance and Operations Business Partner who can support our young and growing organization. We encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to apply and welcome dynamic personalities, who are comfortable working in a start-up environment – where anything is possible but not always known in advance. This is a part-time position, and we are open to candidates’ suggestions about how to best structure a 3-4 day work week. Remote and/or work from home is possible.
Position summary
As our CPI North America Finance and Operations Business Partner, you will be a key member of our team, helping us grow our organization in a sustainable way and ensuring we operate in an efficient and effective manner. You will work closely with CPI’s Global Finance and Operations Manager who is based in London and the Director of CPI North America.
You will be responsible to help our rapidly growing organization make key decisions about our financial strategy by producing internal and external financial reports that can help our teams and our Board make informed decisions. As part of this role, you will also be responsible for coordinating with external advisors, such as auditors, accountants and lawyers.
In addition to the strategic responsibilities, the Finance and Operations Business Partner will have full responsibility over the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes. This includes managing our finances in Xero and helping our team understand and manage project budgets.
You will be supported by our People, Culture and Office Coordinator locally in D.C. and by our Global Finance and Operations Manager in London.
This role will give you an excellent oversight of how a global not for profit operates. The role combines managing day-to-day financial matters with ownership over operational policies and procedures.
How we work
CPI aims to be an inspirational workplace. We value collaboration, share power, and work in a non-hierarchical fashion. You will help shape the strategic direction of our small organization by being a valued thought partner to our young and growing team.
