Job Description
Introduction to the role
The Education Sales Consultants role will involve visiting schools to build relationships with teachers in a specified territory. The objective is to promote Collins books and digital resources for schools, leading to an increase in sales in the territory. You will be required to work closely with your Sales Team Leader, Head of Schools Sales and other members of the sales team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with knowledge of the education sector who is looking for a people focused role.
This role is home based. A company car, laptop and mobile phone are provided. The position is operational during term time only.
Territories covered: Blackburn, Blackpool, Bolton, Halton, Knowsley, Lancashire, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helen's, Warrington, Wigan, Wirral.
Key responsibilities:
Visit teachers, Heads of Departments, subject co-coordinators and develop strong relationships.
Develop and maintain a good knowledge and understanding of curriculum requirements and how Collins products support them.
Grow sales of Collins titles in schools and education establishments, achieving sales targets.
Develop relationships and increase business with existing Collins user schools.
Secure new adoptions of Collins resources in schools and education establishments.
Ensure contacts and visits made are recorded in the CRM and it is kept up to date for your territory.
Attend events/exhibitions and teacher meetings.
Attend regional/national training days, sales meetings and conferences.
Manage your sales territory including maintenance of accounts and related administration.
The candidate
Demonstration of excellent sales skills and results.
Sales background (ideally within Education).
Good understanding of UK Schools Education system.
Skills and qualities:
Computer literacy including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Excellent relationship building skills.
Driving license.
Proven sales and negotiating skills.
Self motivated – able to work without direct supervision
Determined and resilient
Commercial, driven by sales success
Well organised
Positive, energetic approach
