Job Description

Introduction to the role

To assist the Communications Director and Communications Manager on all corporate communications matters, with special responsibilities for editing the company intranet, company website and running the company’s social media profile.

Core responsibilities

  • Manage the @HarperCollinsUK Twitter account

  • Work with the Central Marketing Team to ensure that we are covering all priority titles

  • Draft and send out internal Comms emails as and when needed

  • Write news stories for HarperHome, the HarperCollins intranet

  • Liaise with key contacts across the company to ensure that the intranet reflects what is happening within the company

  • Edit the corporate website to ensure the site is up-to-date

  • Upload press releases onto the corporate website

  • Monitor the Communications@HarperCollins.co.uk inbox

  • Research and compile the weekly round-up of newspaper cuttings, company announcements and key events for the Exec Board

  • Work with the Comms team to implement charity strategies and campaigns

  • Collate and maintain information such as prize winners and bestseller lists

Experience required

  • Experience of working in a busy office environment that requires high level of service

Skills required

  • Proven ability to write tight, accurate and highly readable copy

  • Ability to communicate confidently at all levels

  • Excellent computer skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent organisation skills

  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Ability to respect confidentiality at all times
