Job Description

The Northeast Program Supervisor supports NOLS faculty, ensuring program quality to promote faculty excellence and outstanding student outcomes.

Key Logistical Information:

  • Location: Gabriels, NY

  • Contract type: Seasonal (July 14-August 16, 2023).

  • Start date: July 14, 2023.

  • Benefits: Insurance Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision benefits are available at a special NOLS rate to seasonal employees.

    Shared housing with communal use of kitchen and living areas for $50 per month. Meals are provided when students are at the NOLS Northeast campus.

What does a Seasonal Program Supervisor do?

You will be involved in the following activities:

  • Facilitate growth-oriented briefings and debriefings.

  • Supervise and mentor field faculty

  • Ensure faculty understand NOLS Accepted Field Practices. Write faculty evaluations.

  • Apply NOLS Field Instructor Skills in evaluating faculty performance.

  • Serve as a communication link between NOLS administration and faculty.

  • Share evacuation coordinator duties by carrying a 24-hour emergency phone during operating season.

  • Assist with evacuations and duties associated (transports, follow through, clinic/ hospital visits).

  • Facilitate communication with students, family members and staff in complex and critical situations.

  • Plan course routes and logistic schedules.  

  • Manage NOLS Northeast petty cash and credit card use as necessary.

  • Organize and review all course related paperwork.

  • Develop curriculum resources and maintain curriculum files, resources, and library.

  • Network to support schoolwide programs and initiatives. Participate in program supervisor meetings.

  • Assist with operations – gear, rations, meal and vehicle preparation, course drives, and facilities upkeep as necessary to maintain excellent student service.

Additional Information
