About the Role

Our agriculture and food team support global food and beverage clients set and implement commercially focused sustainability strategies across their value chains. Our team of experts tackle complex challenges ranging from carbon emissions, water resilience, soil health, deforestation, biodiversity and human rights; often working with our Digital team to develop decision support tools that support businesses evidence impact and measure progress towards their sustainability goals.

 

The agriculture and food consulting practice is looking to appoint a highly motivated Principal Consultant in the UK to lead on a variety of projects. The role will require strategic and delivery leadership, with the successful candidate having demonstrable experience in consultancy, business development, project and operational management. You will ensure clients receive high quality outcomes on time and within budget, whilst also having the opportunity to develop new client relationships and activities. As a senior position in the UK business, you will line manage a small team and we may also consider including more extensive business responsibilities.

 

Essential Skills and Experience

 

·       5 years’ experience in consultancy roles within the agriculture and food sectors (including business development, project, budget and team management)

·       Strong understanding of retail food supply chains and related sustainability challenges and opportunities

·       Excellent project management/direction and both team and subject leadership with ability to provide strategic insight related to our agriculture and food services

·       Strong numeracy and data analysis capabilities with comfortable, advanced use of Microsoft Excel

·       Experience in delighting clients, preferably within a corporate context while challenging them to deliver maximum sustainability impact.

·       Strong communication and consulting skills.

·       Active and encouraging team player with an ability to work in multi-stakeholder environments

·       Business and people management
