We are a growing team of Seismic Changemakers, and we are now seeking a new Senior Copywriter to help drive forward the next phase of impact and business growth.

The role and its responsibilities


We’re looking for a Copywriter with impact experience to take on a role that promotes the value of social and environmentally conscious business.  You’ll be an action orientated individual working with a team that delivers  an exciting mixture of impact consulting and communications for our clients. 


Key responsibilities will involve writing copy for communications projects on behalf of our clients and for Seismic’s own comms programme. This will include:

  • Content creation: developing inspiring sustainability content, including reports, blogs, infographics, videos, social media

  • Editorial: Writing thought leadership editorial in the form of articles in publications or blogs for websites

  • Sustainability Narratives - crafting key messages to support a clients sustainability agenda - this might be for their B Corp journey, their Net Zero pathway or their ESG strategy

  • Impact Reporting - Preparing clients’ Impact Reports, collating impact metrics, crafting into a narrative to create a compelling report.

  • Story telling - Interviewing stakeholders to identify sustainability stories and copywriting these in various formats (website case study, one page pdfs, PPT slides etc) 

  • PPT Decks - crafting compelling copy for presentation decks on behalf of clients

  • Social Media: Writing social posts on behalf of clients and for Seismic’s own social media, primarily on Linked but also other social channels 


About you

You believe that humanity and businesses need to make a seismic shift in the right direction and want to work with a company that is making meaningful change.  You want to champion our clients, helping them to communicate their impact journey. At the same time you want to work in a friendly, collaborative and empathetic team, hand in hand with Sustainability Consultants, together delivering impactful projects for high-profile clients.


You have at least 5 years of writing experience, ideally working with clients to create and deliver compelling environmental and social content. You are excellent at interviewing people, reading complex materials and metrics to draw out meaningful stories and narratives, and you can convert this into different types of content. You will be working with our Head of Communications, who will guide and train you, so you will have a supportive mentor and the opportunity to learn and gain new skills and experience. 


The ideal candidate is someone who is a go-getter, not afraid of a challenge, has an entrepreneurial spirit, and likes the freedom and creativity that comes with working for a small, high growth team. It is vital that you are self motivated, energetic and a great team player. You must have knowledge of sustainability and proven experience of writing about B Corp, ESG and Net Zero.

Skills and experience 

  • Impact experience in social and sustainable change 

  • B Corp communications experience and knowledge

  • Narrative and messaging skills

  • Social media experience (writing posts, not necessarily channel management)

  • Report writing 

  • Website blogs

  • Press release and feature writing for media

  • Script writing - for video and for speaker events

  • Presentation decks

  • Design liaison - working with designers and videographers to create content

  • A qualification in journalism, copywriting or communications is ideal but not essential.


Location

UK, ideally within commuting distance to London for occasional work in the London office, we are unable to sponsor visa's at this time.

Status 

Ideally full time. Part time is considered if 4+ days per week.
