Job Description
Overall purpose of the role
The Email Marketing Manager will play an important role within the Growth and Analytics team. This is a great opportunity for a smart and technical email marketer to own and grow the CRM program at HarperCollins. This is a dynamic, fast paced environment and team and the role will play an integral part in driving reader’s awareness and book purchases to meet the Group’s growth targets for the next three years.
The Email Marketing Manager will be responsible for growing and managing the Group email list. They will become a thought leader for all the other divisional Marketing directors ensuring that best practices across divisions are shared. The Email Marketing Manager will be reporting to the Director of Growth and Analytics.
Main Responsibilities
Manage the Group Email Marketing Campaigns
Develop, plan, execute and optimize (through AB testing) CRM campaigns using email communications to meet business goals
Define and execute strategies to acquire new leads
Work with the divisional teams to achieve joint goals
Partner with systems and business operations teams to ensure the accuracy of audience targeting, list pulls, data and to troubleshoot marketing platform issues.
Partner with the creative team to support email marketing programs.
Define a reporting structure to regularly report and track campaign and business goals.
Garner insights and document best practices from previous campaigns so that we can continually learn and improve future campaign performance.
Evangelise email best practices across the business and organise meetings with external vendors to share market best practices.
Ensure all practices align with GDPR requirements.
Conduct competitor and market analysis to learn from industry best practices and apply to HarperCollins campaigns.
Assess, evaluate, and troubleshoot CRM/marketing data, tools, and processes to support the development of marketing automation programs.
