Job Description

WorkForClimate

WorkForClimate is a new digital platform to provide inspiration, content and community for employees of major corporations who want to make their organisations a more powerful and positive force in the critical fight against climate change. We are looking for an experienced, passionate and creative leader with an entrepreneurial spirit to develop and scale this platform in order to accelerate corporate climate action globally.

Around the world, there are a growing number of climate-concerned professionals who want to make a positive impact in their workplace and who believe business can be a force for good! These individuals are highly skilled and influential in their companies, want to work “within the system” to create change - but need inspiration tools and support to do this. WorkForClimate aims to fulfil this need. If successful, we aim to scale this program from the ASX100 in Australia to the Global 2000.

About us

Bryan J. Rollins, the Founder of WorkForClimate, was a General Manager at Atlassian and helped build the company into a global technology leader. He saw first-hand how individual employees and teams who wanted to make a positive difference could transform the business for better – economically and socially. WorkForClimate has a small team of technologists, marketers and generalists spread across geographies working to build a platform that will be fit-for-purpose for these alarming and urgent times.

WorkForClimate is supported by The Sunrise Project, a not-for-profit headquartered in Sydney, Australia, whose mission is to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. It provides grants as well as strategy, analysis and networking support for NGOs and cross-sector partners to work together for greater impact. For more information see: www.sunriseproject.org.au

About you

First and foremost, you’re a self-driven leader who is deeply passionate about solving the climate crisis and understands the role that business can play in this. You are looking for a way to have deep personal impact on the biggest problem facing humanity, and are willing to work behind-the-scenes or lead from the front as required.

You understand the corporate world, and how change can happen inside a traditional corporate environment, and you believe in the power of organisations to do great things - if pointed in the right direction. You have personally been a part of important change in your organisation and have seen how new products get launched, how cost-cutting initiatives are driven, how HR and governance policies get adopted. You are a realist but not a cynic – you believe that corporations have a critical role to play in driving climate action.

You speak the language of corporates and understand what the target audience will require to make change within a corporate setting.
