Job Description

Overview

It is our aim to be one of the UK’s very best NHS charities, working in partnership with the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust to deliver world class care for patients and the best possible support for staff.

Central to this is the energy and focus we bring to ensuring the full breadth of our resources, including charitable donations, are utilised as effectively as possible. We aim to use cutting edge approaches to benefit the Trust’s patients and staff, and to communicate our impact widely and well. In all of our work we bring a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and aim to reflect that across our funding structures.

We have worked in Lambeth and Southwark for hundreds of years and the challenges the Trust has faced in 2020 have been some of the most acute in its history. It has been our privilege to work with our colleagues at the Trust at this time but as well as being able to re-orient our funding quickly in times of crisis we are deeply committed to the benefits that come from a long-term strategic relationship.

The Trust Funding Development Manager will help us enhance our effectiveness in support of the Trust as an anchor institution for the people of Lambeth and Southwark and will lead on all aspects of delivering the systems and processes we need to make the best possible funding decisions. We support funding recipients with more than just funds and it will be your role to make sure that the package we provide – covering areas such as evaluation, sustainability and service design – helps give projects the best possible opportunity to deliver impact.

You will report to the Trust Funding Director as part of a small and focused team within our Communications and Engagement directorate. You will be analytical, with strong project and relationship management skills, and be committed to addressing health inequalities in urban areas.

You will work closely with colleagues in the Charity’s Finance & Operations, and Communications teams and with colleagues across the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

This role has huge potential for an ambitious, energetic and self-starting professional to have a significant impact on the lives of patients and staff across the Trust’s hospitals and community sites.

You do not need established expertise in health; but the ability to learn and establish credibility quickly is vital as is a clear commitment to the aims of our work and our organisational values.
