Job Description
Introduction to the role
The Dublin-based team is searching for an enthusiastic intern to join us for a period of 4 months, starting in June 2022. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who has genuine interest in the areas of publishing and PR, and who is looking to gain practical experience within the industry.
The right candidate will have excellent communication and computer skills, a keen interest in the areas involved (publishing, PR, marketing, books & literature etc.) combined with a ‘can do’ attitude. They will assist the team primarily in all areas of PR and admin.

Opportunity to be a part of all areas of publishing – publicity, editorial, sales and marketing
Experience of working in a small publishing operation in the Irish market, while gaining understanding of the workings of the much larger HarperCollins family.
Key Accountabilities
Issuing out of mailings as required
Drafting of press releases as required, under the expert guidance and supervision of the team
Supporting the Dublin team preparing for busy event schedules. This will involve liaising with bookshops and other event partners, making travel arrangements, and carrying out other PR related duties as required
Monitor social media and create new content under the direction of the PR Director
Cover office administration, and offer support while the HarperCollins team is out of the office
Experience required
Work experience that demonstrates the ability to work in a busy working environment and manage multiple tasks
Work experience that demonstrates creativity and ability to work as a self-starter
Skills required
Excellent working understanding of the full Word package, including Excel and mail merge
Full working knowledge and experience with Google/Facebook/Twitter/ Instagram set up, management and social media analytics
Ability and flare for the creation and development of social media content
Ability to work well under pressure and to multi-task
Good communication and research skills
