Job Description
Introduction to the role
Responsible for controlling the budget and forecast planning process, which includes
providing guidance to commercial divisions, consolidating financial results and informing senior
management of key business risks and opportunities. The role will also provide general assistance to the Head of Financial Reporting and the Senior Finance Team to ensure the smooth running of the Group Finance function.
Core responsibilities
Budget and forecasting
Manage the timing, consolidation and reporting of monthly forecasts, annual budgets and other planning exercises.
Perform analysis of results for management review.
Control the forecast and budget data sets within the Hyperion Planning System
Month-end reporting
Responsible for key areas of month-end reporting
Compilation of the CFO’s monthly financial Executive Report.
Reporting and analysis of financial results for HarperCollins US and preparing budget pack.
Strategic Planning
Assist in the strategic planning process by modelling data, consolidating divisional input and contributing ideas.
Assist in the evaluation of potential acquisitions and new business development opportunities.
Work with HR to provide all financial input for the calculation of the Company’s annual bonus scheme and annual Pay Review.
Work with the Financial Controller and heads of departments to provide monthly analysis of Technology, Production and Irish cost centres
Liaise closely with heads of department to produce budgets and forecasts
Experience required
Recently qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA
Experience of large organisations and detailed processes
Skills required
Exceptional EXCEL skills
Effective planner/scheduler
Strong attention to detail
Co-operative and able to establish relationships with colleagues who work remotely
Able to converse effectively with members of the Senior Management
