Job Description

Frontline has made significant advances in recent years, particularly in the design of our programmes. We are now looking for a Curriculum Director who can further improve our programmes through a clear vision of excellent social work practice and leadership. This is a vital, senior leadership position and we need a skilled individual to bring their practice expertise to lead the Curriculum Team in designing exceptional programmes (Frontline, Firstline and Consultant Social Workers programmes). This is a distinct and unusual role; we are looking for someone with significant leadership and programme design experience, from a social work or academic background. Our highest priority is finding a Curriculum Director who is as energised about the prospect of developing FANTASTIC social workers as we are, so we are very open to hearing from people with different skills.

The Curriculum Director leads a highly skilled and multi-disciplinary curriculum team who design the content and teaching approach for of all Frontline’s programmes. The team’s focus is to develop outstanding social work practice and leadership through excellent teaching, assessment, feedback and coaching. The programmes we run directly benefit over 600 social workers and managers annually, so this role represents a huge opportunity to influence the development of social work practice and leadership in England.

There is a great deal of scope to improve what and how we teach, so we need someone with who thinks deeply about how social workers learn and get better. Using these insights, we want the Curriculum Director to draw on learning from other professional disciplines and effectively implement changes working collaboratively with colleagues. Additionally, they will have had experience of delivering or designing development programmes, be highly organised and engaging.
