Role overview

Working in conjunction with the CFO, you will be a technically sound, highly skilled agile blend of financial planner and reporting accountant, fully immersed in digital working practices. Simplicity at your core, you will be acutely focused on supporting and engaging non-financial people, enabling and equipping them to financially manage the business, their client accounts and sectors. Transforming financial data and analysis into business ready, user friendly information, preparing meaningful company budgets and forecasts for the Board. 

What you’ll do for us:

  • All of our forecasting, budgeting and business planning. 

  • Preparing meaningful financial budgets, forecasts and clear information driven presentations for the Management, Board and for KYU, a corporate investor. 

  • Support the CFO in implementing appropriate financial controls and approvals for the size of business and ensure that the business is ready for audit at the end of the financial year 

  • Working with the Business Administrator and our outsourced accountants to ensure that the financials are complete and accurate 

  • Supporting the sector and client leads with budgeting and forecasting on client engagement work / sector forecasts, ensuring all resource and people planning is accurately and comprehensively costed, driving contract value. 

  • Completing accurate and relevant monthly reporting of company and sector P&Ls / balance sheet and comparisons to the budget and forecast, explaining variances for the business, sector and client leads, delivering in an agile, ‘customer in mind’ approach.

  • Assisting with client pricing work when called upon.

  • Actual vs budget analysis on client engagements.

  • Ensuring appropriate revenue recognition and maintenance of any deferred or accrued revenue and work in progress.

  • Work collaboratively within Google Workspace (formally Google Suite) across all aspects of financial data and information. 

  • Analysing data from Harvest to include operational and financial metrics.

  • Working with Excel as required to provide monthly financial reporting, forecasts, budget, business planning and ad hoc analysis as required by the corporate investor from time to time 

What we’re looking for:

  • Can do attitude, initiative and the drive to enable your internal customers do their delivery. 

  • Collaborative and agile working style. 

  • Great communicator, able to express financial information to non financial people in a clear, concise ‘customer in mind’ manner.

  • High levels of integrity when dealing with sensitive and business critical information. 

  • A qualified  accountant, either ACA, ACCA or CIMA.

  • Background that has included professional services or consultancy, or a role that has involved time based billings.

  • Attention to detail and excellent levels of accuracy.

  • Experience working with modern time management systems such as Harvest and cloud based accounting systems such as Xero, as well as Google Workspace and Excel.

  • Demonstrable financial planning and analysis experience.

  • Ability to work in a multi currency customer and Group environment.
