Job Description

Want your social content to do social good? Swipe right on Comic Relief for the perfect match: Digital Content Lead. Our ideal partner would be creatively minded, understand production from start to finish, and have experience of leading a content team for a high-profile brand.

The Digital Content Lead will commission content and ideas to generate and engage audiences, support Fundraising & Marketing plans and broaden reach based on strategic direction from Marketing and Media, and the Social Media Manager. Produce a range of planned, reactive and live experience content for platforms establishing a clear tone of voice and positive content experiences.

Key Accountabilities / Objectives

  • Plan and commission content to reach new audiences, engage the existing ones and support fundraising activity

  • See video and images through production from beginning to end – plan, script, shoot, edit, upload

  • Generate ideas, informed by analytics

  • Coordinate the team to deliver content on time and to brief specifications

  • Proactively input into development opportunities, particularly from identifying trends and innovations

  • Work closely to identify and produce content ideas and content partnership initiatives that will support Comic Relief and partners, putting targeted audiences at the heart of everything we do

  • Use channels creatively to maximise the content produced across all platforms, and make bespoke social content

  • Identify new content and platform opportunities that best deliver agreed objectives by project

  • Deep understanding of developments within social platforms and an interest in broader digital innovation

Essential Education and Skills

  • Demonstrable experience of producing multiple social content campaigns for high profile brands.

  • Experience of fast paced production environment and ability to make editorial decisions under high pressure

  • Sense of humour – previous experience of comic/humorous output

  • Previously led a digital video content team

  • Proven ability to build audiences through online platforms

  • Thorough production experience (e.g. copy, Photoshop, live streaming) – with excellent attention to detail and editorial judgement

  • Experience of working collaboratively across internal departments and managing complex content schedules

  • Extensive experience of working across all social networks - with a genuine interest in new platforms, innovation, and creative ideas
