Job Description

Can you talk sport? Do you love chatting to people? Can you carry a brand tone of voice, and still keep it light and funny? Then come and be our Sport Relief Communities Management assistant/executive! We’re on the lookout for someone who can tweet and comment their hearts content, and drum up hype and interest around the Sport Relief 2020 campaign alongside the Social Media and Communities Manager and social content team. Fun stuff aside, some experience with supporter care/ customer care would be great, strong writing skills are essential, and knowing the ins-and-outs of public relations would be a bonus.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Social Media and Communities Manager to ensure that all social media comments and inbox messages are responded to at the height of Sport Relief 2020

  • Excellent copywriting skills, and a funny, friendly, articulate and transparent digital communicative style.

  • Respond to all messages and comments in a prompt and organised manner

  • Brilliant understanding of social media – The nuances of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube should come to you like a second language.

  • Follow community management guidelines and have a good understanding of escalation procedures

  • Share and retweet content that is relevant to Sport Relief 2020, and help populate the social media pages with exciting and engaging content.

  • Work with the supporter care team to answer enquiries and inbox messages

  • Manage hostile situations well, be an advocate for the people that Comic Relief and Sport Relief support and stand up to trolls and bullies fearlessly.

  • Schedule and post content

  • Working with the Social Media and Communities Manager and Social Media and Communities Executive on an on-call rota during campaign to ensure that social media feeds are being checked out of working hours.

The Ideal Person:

  • Excellent team player and can-do attitude

  • Lives and breathes social media

  • A great sense of humour and friendly approach

  • Impeccable copywriting and grammar skills

  • Experience in social media and/or community management

  • Sporty – Always helps to have someone on the team who knows what they’re talking about!

  • A basic understanding of public relations – Escalate any activities online to the Social Media and Communities Manager
