Job Description
The Business System Analyst, CRM (BSA) at NOLS is responsible for optimizing IT systems and supporting current and future business processes within Microsoft D365 CRM. This includes analyzing new and existing technologies, designing and implementing solutions, and driving process improvements. The BSA will manage the roadmap for CRM enhancements and fixes, ensuring effective documentation, testing, implementation, maintenance, and integration with other systems. Additionally, the BSA will assist in migrating remaining business units from legacy software to D365-CRM, ensuring accurate and secure data flow across systems.

What does a Business Systems Analyst, CRM do?
This role is in our IT Applications and Data team.
This role is at mid-level which means you will be involved in the following activities:
Oversees database to ensure quality of student, sponsor and constituent records and enrollment, course and fundraising data
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the IT needs of the Wilderness Medicine, Expedition, and Advancement departments
Determines how changes to a project, system and/or process will affect the business and systems
Advise on current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs
Gather business requirements and develop and communicate detailed specifications and/or project documentation for implementation of new software and tools (often in coordination with external implementation partner vendors)
Communicate project expectations and progress to stakeholders
Prioritize, groom and perform testing of system enhancement requests
Assist in developing and creating lists, queries and dashboards
Support and train end users, including developing training documents as needed
Maintain/edit Solution Design Documentation for D365 CRM
Provide Tier 3 support of D365 CRM and related applications, integrations and reports
Create simple PowerBI reports and communicate report requirements for more complex reports to our vendor partner
Create simple Walks (user aids) using WalkMe (our digital adoption platform)
Support other IT department initiatives and projects as assigned
What makes a great Business Systems Analyst, CRM at NOLS?

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; or equivalent experience
Experience in a non-profit, fundraising organization a plus
Extensive knowledge of CRM best practices and techniques
Extensive experience with Microsoft D365-CRM software,
Experience with Power BI or other query and reporting tools
Experience with WooCommerce and other integrations with D365-CRM a plus
Experience implementing CRM and other business applications a plus
Project management skills including creating project/task schedules, test plans
Working knowledge of database queries (theory and design)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Personable, customer focused
In your first 6 months, you will:
Assist in managing the D365-CRM support pipeline including grooming enhancements, partnering with our vendor development team to design and test enhancements
Assist in projects related to migrating enrollment and course delivery processes and data from legacy systems into D365-CRM
Assist in project related to migrating financial processes out of D365-CRM and into Business Central
Provide Tier 3 support for the Wilderness Medicine and Advancement users and systems (primarily D365-CRM and related integrations)
