Summary of the Role 

We are looking for a highly motivated Principal Consultant to support our growing offerings around Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions management. You will own market-leading projects to establish effective scope 3 management strategies, grounded in actionable scope 3 inventories and climate action plans that drive emissions reductions across the value chain. You will manage teams of varying sizes, drawing from Anthesis SMEs with deep technical expertise in multiple related fields, including GHG Accounting and Reporting, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), Science Based Targets (SBTs) and Net Zero, Supplier Engagement, amongst others. You will also provide technical guidance to project teams and act as the main point of contact for the client.  

Your projects and clients will span multiple industries, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to boutique brands, and require engagement with clients, and their suppliers, around the world. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Project Management – As a Principal Consultant, you will be expected to manage the delivery of multiple projects on time, track financial performance, coordinate day-to-day project activities, and act as a primary client liaison. You could be managing several projects at any one time, each with their own project teams. 

  • Client Management – You will be responsible for managing client expectations and optimize value through projects to drive continuous, strategic improvement. 

  • Scope 3 Emissions Inventories - You will support the client in gathering data and information, shaping actionable accounting systems, and identifying key insights from scope 3 inventories addressing different aspects of the value chain (e.g., suppliers, customers, employees, etc.). 

  • Scope3 Emissions Reduction Strategies -  You will be coaching clients on the evolving landscape of scope 3 emissions management and guiding them through the development of climate action plans.   

  • Business Development – You will be contributing to and developing proposals for potential clients and projects and represent Anthesis during interviews as the consultancy best positioned to support. 

  • Practice Development – You will collaborate with global Anthesis colleagues to develop new tools and solutions that further enhance Anthesis’ offerings on scope 3 management 

  • Provide technical leadership and support to junior team members 

Key Requirements 

  • 8+ years’ experience as a sustainability practitioner, focused on corporate carbon management, in either an in-house role and/or consulting role 

  • Demonstrated, extensive experience with scope 3 emissions accounting and product carbon footprints 

  • Demonstrated project management experience 

  • Excellent communication and consulting skills 

  • Comfortable and confident liaising with key stakeholders across various levels
