REPORTS TO :             Head Coach

JOB PURPOSE :

To be passionate and knowledgeable about bowling and the ability to work effectively with seam and spin bowlers. To be an outstanding communicator, able to work on own initiative whilst buying into the team culture and values, within our professional squad and GCCC’s associated talent development system. 

KEY ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE :

·          To provide specialist bowling coaching and support to a range of senior professional and pathway cricket players ensuring a pipeline of skilful and competitive and game smart bowlers are transitioning from the GCCC pathway and have the capability to thrive in first class cricket and beyond

·          To provide specialist and general coaching assistance as and when required by the Head Coach, 2nd XI Coach,  Performance Director and Head of Talent Pathway as appropriate

·          Lead on all bowling coaching across first and second team cricket

·          To ensure the continued development of bowlers from pathway cricket through to 1st XI in collaboration with the Pathway Bowling Coach

·          Work collaboratively with external partners, national counties, clubs, and other key stakeholders which form vital pathways with GCCC

·          Assist the Head Coach with delivering the needs of the professional squad, during match and non-match days the winter and summer schedules

·          Support the Head of Talent Pathway in developing and implementing a long-term strategy to develop and ensure an over-supply of bowlers that transition into the GCCC Academy and professional squad

·          Provide regular feedback and an accessible digital story for performance programme bowlers and professional bowlers

·          Provide regular coach education and proactive and collaborative approach for regional bowling coaches

·          Collaborate and work effectively with science and medicine staff in order to provide best possible physical care for professional bowlers

·          Communicate proactively and effectively with national governing body coaches

·          Carry out any other duties as directed by the Head Coach or Performance Director

 

 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:

Experience and Knowledge - Essentials:

·        Minimum ECB Level 3 coaching qualification (or equivalent)

·        Passion for developing people

·        Experience of bowling coaching and developing cricketers at professional level and can demonstrate a track record of identifying, developing evolving and transitioning talent

·        Excellent coaching, communication and organisational skills

·        Excellent time management, presentation skills and presents themselves well

·        Excellent IT and digital sharing capture and sharing capabilities

·        Self- Motivated and can work unsupervised.

·        Must be able to work as part of a team and build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders at all levels

·        Current DBS, Child Protection (Safeguarding Young People), First Aid and ECBCA Insurance

·        Working knowledge of Child Protection and Welfare principles, policies and procedure

·        Willingness to work outside of normal office hours

·        Driving Licence
