About the role

The Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF) are seeking a Senior Events Officer (maternity cover) to deliver and host a planned range of learning and development, networking events and forums across 2021.

ACF’s events programme provides it’s members with opportunities to undertake professional development, share best practice and discuss vital areas of concern for foundations and grant making trusts.

ACF’s events programme is currently being hosted online therefore a significant amount of the Senior Event’s Offier’s role will be hosting online sessions ensuring smooth running, delivery and co-ordination of delegates, speakers and other content providers.

The ability to engage with members, speakers and other providers to drive and develop content and gather data and feedback to monitor success of our events and seminars is an essential part of this position.

The Senior Events Officer will also work with our Senior Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure events are marketed accordingly, maintaining accurate and up to date information on our website and across booking platforms such as Eventbrite.

The successful applicant will have experience of planning, scheduling and delivering online, virtual events across a range of platforms and technologies.

Excellent organisational skills and experience of remote working, self starting and working to deadlines are all highly important to the success of the position.

The successful applicant will also possess the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to ensure that events are delivered successfully, safely and in accordance with ACF’s strategic objectives, policies and procedures and will also support the Senior Learning and Events Manager to scope and define the need for future learning events and programmes.

Experience in a membership organisation or not-for-profit sectors would be highly advantageous but is not essential

Key tasks and areas of responsibility

To deliver our programme of learning and events including coordinating our networks, training, seminars and annual conference

Work collaboratively with colleagues to build ACF’s reputation for providing challenging, relevant, and engaging events

Learning and Events Programme

Co-ordinate the delivery of the learning and events programme including:

• Member-led networks

• Professional Development Programme

• Roundtables and forums

• Supporting delivery of our annual conference

• Webinars

Activities include:

• Planning, scheduling and organising all events

• Marketing of events including drafting content and updating the website

• Ensuring accurate data capture, recording via CRM.

• Assisting ACF to adopt a new CRM system including data cleansing & migration

• Communicating with network convenors, speakers, venues and third parties

• Delegate management including via online platforms

• Event evaluation analysis and reporting

General

• Ensure that the principles of equality and valuing diversity underpin the execution of the responsibilities and tasks described above.

• Have regard to environmental good practice in all areas of the work.

• Undertake any other duties in support of ACF’s work as may reasonably be required.

• Comply with all ACF’s policies and procedures.
