Reform is recruiting an Events and Communications Coordinator to join its small and passionate team. The successful candidate will be responsible for their own portfolio of policy events and will deliver Reform’s communications strategy to ensure its research has maximum impact. Working within the wider events, communications and fundraising team, the Events and Communications Coordinator will work in close collaboration with the Reform senior management and research teams.

Reform runs an annual programme of around 60 policy and fundraising events, which bring together senior leaders from across government, public services and business to push the public services policy debate forward. The Events and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of a portfolio of policy events, ensuring they run smoothly and are delivered to a high standard. The successful candidate will work with a range of senior stakeholders, including FTSE 100 and 250 companies, and will be the lead from Reform on these projects.

The Events and Communications Coordinator will work to ensure that Reform’s research is communicated as effectively as possible. They will be responsible for launching research reports, uploading website content and scheduling social media content. They will work closely with the research team to deliver this.

Reform is an independent, cross-party think tank dedicated to achieving better and smarter public services. Its mission is to set out ideas that will improve public services for all and deliver value for money. Reform is the third largest think tank of its kind and the largest with a specific focus on public service reform and productivity. Its core research areas are Home Affairs and Justice, Education, Health, Work and Pensions, as well as cross-cutting issues such as workforce capability, digital transformation, competition and choice, and efficiency.

Core responsibilities

• Create, project manage and deliver a portfolio of around 30 events a year, including the Party conference programme

• Act as a relationship manager for event partners, delivering projects to a high standard and developing relationships with them

• Deliver Reform’s communications strategy, working closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the research team

• Identify opportunities and suggest ideas to improve Reform’s events and communications processes, implementing change where necessary

• Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to produce relevant copy for the Reform website, and with the research team to produce relevant marketing and event materials

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills

• Excellent written skills and attention to detail

• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to multi-task and work under pressure

• An ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

• An understanding of Whitehall and the broader public policy debate
