Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the multi-award-winning marketing team at HQ. Specialising in commercial fiction, non-fiction and digital publishing, HQ is a young, ambitious and award-winning imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. Here at HQ we launch debuts and develop new talent, build brand authors and publish Sunday Times bestselling authors such as such as, Linwood Barclay, BOSH!, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Erica James, Sarah Morgan, Adele Parks and June Sarpong.

We are looking for a creative, confident marketer with experience working in a busy campaigns or marketing team to devise campaigns for our bold, brave and inclusive fiction and non-fiction. The role

As Campaign Manager, you will be responsible for planning and implementing your own integrated and innovative marketing campaigns, that will reach and engage readers and drive sales, across our HQ, HQ Digital and Pavilion imprints.

Key tasks and responsibilities Include:

  • Developing innovative, creative and targeted campaigns that focus on who the reader is, and how to reach them

  • Delivering marketing activity across a variety of marketing channels from planning and briefing stage through to delivery and analysis

  • Measuring and evaluating campaigns, sharing learnings and optimising for future activity

  • Communicating marketing activity effectively with our authors, agents and colleagues

  • Managing key partner and trade relationships, including representing the team both within the business and the wider train

  • Ensuring that materials and communications for trade and consumer activity, are produced on time and on budget

  • Striving for innovation to produce market-leading campaigns that will create cut-through, deliver on sales targets and win awards

  • Actively seeking new trends and platforms and be informed about new marketing insights and opportunities

  • Working with brand and media partners to leverage reader interest and expand our consumer reach

  • Supporting a culture of collaboration and integration, working closely with other key teams across the division to ensure that all stakeholder needs are met

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of owned media channels, campaigns and communities across the division and wider group

  • Proactively contributing to the development of author brands and backlist sales

Skills required

  • Creativity essential!

  • Exceptional organisation, communication and prioritisation skills 

  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships

  • An understanding of the commercial book market and book buyer

  • Excellent marketing skills across a range of media and tools, including OOH, digital and social advertising, social media platforms and content creation

  • Experience working in a busy marketing, campaigns or communications department

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Thorough understanding of existing and emerging social media platforms

  • Experience in using InDesign / Photoshop desirable

  • Enthusiasm for reading widely across commercial fiction and non-fiction
