Job Description

About the role

As Senior Housing Adviser you will lead on delivering a quality holistic housing service to GHH clients. This will involve your own case load plus line managing housing staff and volunteers. Around half of our clients are experiencing homelessness or housing difficulty and as such we are looking to develop further in this area including integrating volunteers into our Tenancy Sustainment Programme. No two days are the same at GHH and this role will expose you to a diverse client base and a wide network of partner organisations.

About the team

Glasgow’s Helping Heroes is a friendly, informal team based in the Pearce Institute in Glasgow. We are currently working flexibly between the office and home with some outreach work too. The team at GHH work with a variety of internal and external partners including the nearby SSAFA branches and Scottish Support Office.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced housing professional with great knowledge of the housing landscape in Glasgow. You will be confident communicating to a diverse audience with excellent problem solving skills and a desire to support all our clients to find their home.

You will manage your own full and varied caseload, providing holistic advice with an emphasis on housing and homelessness. Working collaboratively with other members of the team and using your knowledge of charities and statutory organisations you will ensure practical and emotional support is available.

About SSAFA

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing practical, emotional, and financial support to our Forces and their families since 1885. SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. We are here for that person – any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us.

Diversity and Inclusion at SSAFA

SSAFA exists to support a diverse range of beneficiaries within the armed forces community, and we believe diversity within our teams is key to ensuring we can deliver our services effectively.
