Partnership Manager - Queen's Young Leaders and KFC - Fixed Term: June 2019 - June 2020

The Partnership Manager will manage grants centred on supporting young people in the UK and beyond. You will take ownership of grants within two diverse portfolios; The Queen’s Young Leaders and KFC partnerships, and also support in the design of a new UK based grants programme.

Key Accountabilities / Objectives

  • Manage the portfolio of grants and undertake effective monitoring to ensure that all grants perform well. Provide considered feedback, advice and guidance to funding partners (grantees).

  • Use and maintain grant-related data in the grant management system and work with others to evolve and improve our systems and processes.

  • Work with Finance and the Senior Partnership Manager to proactively manage partnership budgets.

  • Monitor programme spend to ensure the programme remains on track.

  • Identify and champion stories of success and key learning points from within your portfolios, working cross-departmentally to share learning and inform external communications.

  • Work with the Senior Partnership Manager to conduct and collate the Queen’s Young Leaders grants evaluation and exhibition.

  • Work collaboratively and proactively with colleagues within Comic Relief, including the Queen’s Young Leaders matrix team.

  • Support the Senior Partnership Manager in producing internal and external reports.

  • Represent and positively promote Comic Relief in appropriate fora, networks and consortia.

  • Regular travel (primarily across the UK and maybe international) required within this role.

Essential Education and Skills

  • Solid experience of working in international development desirable.

  • Familiarity with a variety of project development and grant management tools including theory of change, MEL plans, and budgets.

  • Experience of working within youth programmes essential, and experience in developing youth programmes advantageous.

  • Experience of grant making and grant management.

  • Experience of partnership working.
