Job Description

The Growth and Analytics team focus on driving growth across all divisions of the company through data-driven projects. These range from digital marketing to revenue forecasting and algorithms. A great chance to learn about data analysis and strategy in a team with a start-up-like mentality.

The role

We are looking for a Junior Commercial Data Analyst to join our Growth and Analytics team, playing a critical role in the definition and implementation of best revenue growth strategies in the ever-changing e-book and audio industry in the Australian and New Zealand markets, a new area covered by the UK team. This is an amazing opportunity to join a highly-demanding Big Data environment and to become a key player in the fast-paced growth of the function. You will contribute to the Growth & Analytics strategy through analyses, cross-functional alignment and by providing added value to process automation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply their expertise whilst learning more about technology, marketing and strategy in a young, innovative and dynamic environment among big players such as Amazon, Google or Apple.

Main Responsibilities

  • Set up the data, infrastructure and initiatives of the UK team in Australia, defining processes, pricing strategies and best prices from the ground up for the AU/NZ market.

  • Apply successful strategies and growth projects implemented in the UK market to the AU/NZ territories, developing with the role to learn how to lead these key initiatives for the business.

  • Learn to build and maintain in-depth analysis and communicate to relevant, high-level stakeholders thus becoming a key source of analytical and strategic knowledge for the whole business.

  • Support ad-hoc analysis in the ANZ market based on country needs.

  • Proactive market intelligence to understand main factors driving commercial performance for all company digital products (e-books & audio-books), retailers (Amazon, Apple, Google...) and markets.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of competitors’ business models and tactics, as well as best practices and process automation.

  • Engaging from our London office with the Australian teams based in Sydney, including working closely with the Data Science, Digital Operations, and global sales teams.

  • Drive and motivate collaboration and cross-functional alignment between a wide range of functions and stakeholders to unleash the potential of Big Data analytics across the company.

Essential

  • Basic knowledge of Excel (vlookup, if)
