What we’re looking for
The Engineering Manager at Senseye is responsible for executing on the technical vision supplied by the VP of Research and Development. They are also responsible for ensuring the harmonious balance between all engineering sub-teams, including DevOps, Support, DataOps, Front End and Back End, and sourcing necessary tools to increase efficiency of these teams. Internally, the Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring resources are properly allocated to support internal research and team with respect to data acquisition. Overall, the Engineering Manager will help ensure the stability and quality of externally and internally released software products. The Engineering Manager will grow the department and foster talent growth, communication skills and technical leadership to create an ever-increasing level of software talent at Senseye. Finally, the Engineering Manager must be available to provide direct technical value when called upon in terms of producing software.
Advocate on behalf of engineers in terms of their professional growth and roles within the organization
Strategize and communicate the development lifecycle of Senseye products with internal and external stakeholders.
Use your engineering knowledge to write and maintain safe, clean, and testable code.
Manage the progress and vision of Senseye’s Engineering and Machine Learning capabilities.
Work with both engineers and researchers to develop, refine, and deploy Senseye software products.
Request or acquire equipment necessary for projects while maintaining the financial budget of your team
Manage and respond to requests for product related status updates, presentations, and correspondence
Organize regular project planning meetings with your team and relevant stakeholders
Prepare, maintain, and update technical documentation
Any other duties needed to help drive to our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization's values
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or alternate education & experience showcasing software engineer specific skills
Experience managing a software engineering team
Experience in two or more of the following: OpenCV, gRPC, NumPy, FFmpeg, Flask, React, CI/CD, AWS, Docker, K8s
Experience building software in a collaborative team environment using version control such as Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.
