About the position:

 

The Senior Associate for Research and Development will play a key role in developing BlueMark’s services and supporting the organization’s broader public education and thought leadership activities. The role will provide exciting opportunities to work with diverse impact investing firms and industry standards-setters, contribute to best practices in impact management, reporting, and assurance for the impact investing industry, and help grow a new pioneering business.

 

BlueMark is seeking candidates with experience developing and implementing impact management systems and/or conducting impact or evaluation studies. The work will be executed in collaboration with BlueMark’s senior management team, supported by a team of analysts. This is a unique opportunity to help shape an early-stage company in a dynamic, impactful industry.

 

Core responsibilities:

 

  • Supporting the design and development of new verification services, including overseeing research efforts, stakeholder engagement activities, and pilot testing of new tools and offerings

  • Managing BlueMark’s product roadmap, including coordinating internal efforts to prioritize and implement new solutions and enhancements to existing offerings

  •  Contributing to BlueMark’s thought leadership, including researching market trends, analyzing BlueMark data, and conducting other ad hoc analysis as needed

  • Supporting and leading client verification engagements, particularly as it relates to piloting new services

  • Tracking and monitoring information about the competitive landscape and broader industry trends

  •  Contributing to BlueMark’s technology and data operationalization and strategy

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum qualifications include:

●       Bachelor’s degree

●       5 - 7 years post-Bachelor's degree work experience or equivalent

●       Experience in impact investing or closely related field (e.g., philanthropy, development finance, ESG)

●       Impact management and/or monitoring & evaluation expertise

●       Project management and research experience

●       Strong written and oral communication skills

●       Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and discretion

●       Adept at using Microsoft Office and Google Suite

 

Although not required, preferred qualifications include:

●       Experiencing managing multi-stakeholder consultation and research processes

●       Knowledge of relevant impact and ESG standards (e.g., IMP, Impact Principles, TCFD, etc.)

●       Existing network in impact investing field

●       Strong design sensibilities

●       High level of personal and professional integrity

●       Entrepreneurial and collaborative disposition, with a bias towards action

●       Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

●       Sense of humor and self-awareness
