Job Description

We’re looking for a Mortgage Quality Control Administrator with a passion for providing great Customer service and a critical eye to ensure high standards are maintained.

The Quality Control & Administration Officer is a new role as part of our growing Mortgage Lending Operations team and will play a vital role and be responsible for assessing the effectiveness of our customer’s mortgage journeys and to champion their needs to ensure we we deliver high levels of Customer outcomes, as part of our  quality assurance framework in line with Habito’s and the approved FCA methodologies. These methodologies focus on mortgage lending regulations and adherence to our Lending policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be able to combine their existing quality assurance experience with the best technology and great teamwork to support a truly special process to ensure the customer and the quality of our service we deliver is at the heart of everything we do.

More about what you’ll do:

  • Administration - Case completion - chase external Brokers for any outstanding/additional information required by the Underwriters 

  • Pipeline Management - track booking of valuations and conveyancing, conduct proactive case management and identify and resolve any issues with third parties as they arise. Support general telephony enquiries from external mortgage brokers and Habito Mortgage Experts 

  • Quality Control - Underwriting checks - Conduct agreed 1st line sample checks of mortgage underwriting in adherence to Habito Lending policy / Underwriting Manual

  • Provide Feedback to individual Underwriters and ensure corrective action taken 

  • Capture control results/actions plans and review with Marketplace Ops Director to obtain monthly sign off  

  • Working closely with our Compliance team to ensure good customer outcomes and help support the 3 Lines of defence model.     

  • Customer Experience - Root cause analysis of delays, queries and cancellations across the application journey

  • Support Marketplace Directors of Ops & Commercial in preparation for events/third party meetings

The candidate

  • CeMAP and/or related mortgage qualifications desirable

  • Experience working in a broker/mortgage lending environment 

  • A strong understanding of the Mortgage Industry or Financial Services Regulation

  • Good working knowledge of the end-to-end mortgage process

  • Mortgage file reviewing experience

  • Attention to detail, with a methodical and organised approach

  • Good communication skills

  • Self-motivation and prepared to take responsibility and ownership of tasks

  • The ability to prioritise to meet tight deadlines

  • Hard working, tenacity and a focused mind set

  • The ability to work independently, using their initiative and work as part of a wider team

  • The ability to comfortably handle change, work with stakeholders and in thrive in a fast-evolving environment
