Job Description

About us

Folklore is a team of investors, founders, and builders committed to supporting Australian and New Zealand tech founders. We’re a first cheque to forever investment firm, and we believe in the power of founder vision and the potential of teams, right from the start. Founded in 2013, we’ve proudly invested in companies like Auror (crime-fighting technology), HealthMatch (revolutionising clinical trials with AI), Swoop Aero (autonomous aeromedical drone logistics) and Arli (providing dedicated addiction support), and we're currently closing our third fund. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of the Finance team and the impact Folklore can have more broadly.

About the role

The Accountant position is an exciting opportunity to be part of Folklore’s future as we continue to grow and build out the financial operations at the core of our firm. Working alongside the Financial Controller and the Partners, you will have a flexible approach, be able to handle complexity, show demonstrated attention to detail and thrive working in a close-knit team environment.

You will be a dedicated Accountant with experience working in a hands-on environment and be comfortable working on all aspects of the finance function, including fund reporting, controls & compliance, working with our auditors and external stakeholders and operational accounting aspects including accounts payable. In addition to this, we are enhancing processes and you will play a key role in mapping these out and contributing to  improvements.

The role also requires engagement with the team across our business  and as such you will require excellent communication skills. You will have a service ethic and a quality focus applied in the way you operate and the work you produce.
