Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager to manage the full recruitment life cycle across all functions of our business, from creative, editorial, and marketing positions to business support functions such as sales, production, finance and technology. This is an opportunity to join a progressive People team in a fast-paced creative business.
This is a maternity cover role on a fixed term contract and will share responsibility with the People Business Partners and Director of People for building and implementing the resourcing strategy at HarperCollins.
DI&B experience is key as this role will help to drive diversity and inclusion initiatives relevant to resourcing in partnership with the HarperCollins Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Manager.
Key Accountabilities
Pro-actively work with the People team to consider and deliver diversity & inclusion strategies to ensure we reach the broadest possible pool of candidates
Be the owner and superuser of the anonymous recruitment platform – Be Applied
Work with hiring managers to take a full role brief and formulate a recruitment plan supporting them on this throughout
Create and update job descriptions and advert copy
Work with hiring managers to advise and support with screening and selection through interviews and testing
Monitor and manage recruitment spend with aim to drive down cost of hiring and increase number of direct hires
Liaise with recruitment agencies, managing the PSL
Book and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
Manage the candidates (internal and external) throughout the recruitment process, ensuring that they receive regular feedback on the process, and receive excellent customer care
Maintain accurate reporting including recruitment tracker spreadsheets with cost and source of hires analysis
Support all our offices (London, Glasgow, Honley, Ireland and Manchester) to clearly understand the business requirements when recruiting a role – challenging where necessary using your recruitment experience
Utilising and managing social media for direct recruitment, enhancing and developing our brand
Keep abreast with industry news, attending networking events and looking out as well as in
Project manage the recruitment for the two schemes in conjunction with Director of People/People Business Partners and key stakeholders, from attraction, selection, assessment centres and open days through to offer
Deliver the new starter inductions in conjunction with the People Administrator and onboard new employees
Experience Required
Recruitment experience, both direct and with agencies, ideally in the media, advertising, digital or publishing industries
Experience of ability to source, network and hire top talent across a diverse range of roles at all levels
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, dealing with high volume of CV’s, roles, and candidates
Can demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between resourcing and diversity & inclusion
Solid understanding of recruitment employment law and best practice

Proven interviewing skills with experience of structured competency-based interviews
Strong team player with the ability to use your own initiative
Highly organised, with strong prioritisation and time management skills
Results orientated and commercial awareness
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform in a collaborative fast paced environment
Ability to deal sensitively with confidential information
Outstanding customer service skills
Excellent PC skills, advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Experience using an applicant tracking system (we use Be Applied)
Data analysis skills to create regular reports
