Job Description

Borough Market is in a new phase of its growth and is re-stating its commitment to excellence in produce, customer experience, community relationships and operational standards. This is a key role, to work on the strategic development and management of Borough Market’s marketing function to enhance BM’s overall reputation and build the Market’s corporate and societal aims.   

To work with the Head of Communications and Marketing by delivering integrated marketing campaigns with a focus on digital including SEO, PPC, Digital Display, Paid for Social and ECRM/ Membership marketing. This will be a new initiative for Borough Market and will need to dovetail with existing successful organic social, influencer marketing and traditional PR and onsite marketing.

Key elements of the role:

·       Working with the Head of Communications and Marketing in the development of BM’s marketing strategy and vision.

·       Developing and managing BM’s marketing plans to help to deliver BM brand strategy and vision, thus building awareness and engagement for Borough Market

·     Maintaining and monitoring use of brand guidelines

·    Working with external agencies to develop and deliver a new digital marketing strategy and corresponding campaigns

·   Updating the BM website as required with seasonal information

·     Overseeing the Friends of Borough Market scheme in its current form (250 members) and work with the Head of Communications and Marketing in initial planning for building a new Membership Programme including ECRM

·    Working closely with the Communications Manger to deliver effective integrated campaigns both on and offline

·   Deputising for the Head of Communications and Marketing as required

·   Working with the wider Comms and Operations team to develop external events programme

·  Owning BM’s marketing budget in line with BM’s overall budget targets.

· Maintaining and developing key relationships with external stakeholders, partner organisations, influencers and local community to achieve BM’s strategy and vision.
