About DVFriends

Delaware Valley Friends School is a national leader educating bright students in grades 1-12 who have reading, writing, and other related learning differences. The school attracts students from across the Philadelphia area and is in the midst of several years of program expansion and enrollment growth. Students receive a comprehensive, evidence-based, college preparatory curriculum, individualized instruction, cutting-edge assistive technologies, and successful college placement, with an emphasis on metacognition and self-advocacy within a community based on Friends (Quaker) values.


About you and the role

The Director of Enrollment Management will join a collaborative and dynamic leadership team and report to the Head of School, to begin no later than July 2023. You are a people-oriented professional who brings empathy, expertise, and high emotional intelligence to prospective families and others. You are also adept in managing and taking lessons from data, as well as adept at utilizing the school's web-based enrollment management system. You are (or are eager to become) an advocate for bright students who learn differently and you implement best practices for independent school enrollment management.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Oversee all aspects of the schools admission and recruitment processes.

  • Work as an integral part of a collaborative senior administrative team.

  • Supervise and partner closely with the Assistant Director of Admission/Director of Financial Aid. 

  • Establish relationships of trust with prospective, enrolled, and alumni families.

  • Forge positive relationships with evaluators, attorneys, advocates, admissions professionals, and leaders of feeder schools.

  • Closely track and strategically utilize data at all points of the admissions pipeline, from the inquiry stage through enrollment and retention.

  • Provide regular reports to the head, Board of Trustees, and peer administrators.

  • Lead open houses/info sessions and tours of the school.

  • Clerk (chair) the Admissions Committee of each division.

  • Partner with the marketing and communication office to develop collateral and initiatives for enrollment and retention.

  • Oversee and establish budgets related to enrollment management work, in conjunction with the finance & operations director.

  • Pursue ongoing professional development relevant to the position

Qualifications:

  • You know yourself well, faults and strengths, and approach others with empathy and generosity of spirit.

  • You’re good at building trust with external and internal stakeholders and have a strong customer service orientation.

  • You are highly organized and an excellent communicator in written and spoken forms.

  • You are a strategic and generative thinker.

  • The mission of a school that serves bright students who learn differently is highly appealing to you, and previous experience with students who learn differently is a plus.

  • The values of Friends education resonate with you. Previous experience in Friends education is not essential but is also a plus.

  • You have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice work.

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree at a minimum, and preferably a master’s degree in a relevant discipline
