Our Vacancy

We are now looking for someone to join our Wales team, who shares our values of fairness, dignity and respect and can work with us to build upon our achievements, ensuring our vision becomes a reality.

Within the Wales, Corporate Strategy and Policy Network, the Senior Associate will support the Wales team to deliver the strategic plan and meet the governance and secretariat requirements arising from the Equality Act 2006 to have a statutory Wales Committee.

The role will provide secretariat to the Wales Committee and stakeholder engagement management and deliver communications.

The Wales team is responsible for all of the Commission’s work in Wales.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role include:

•      Provide governance support and secretariat support to Wales Committee and EHRC Commissioner for Wales including overseeing agendas, taking minutes and coordinating the Committee’s engagement strategy.

•      Manage stakeholder engagement including maintaining a stakeholder database, events organisation and engaging external stakeholders and networks in the delivery of the Commission’s strategic plan objectives.

•      Manage communications in Wales to maximise the impact of projects, outputs and outcomes, raising the impact of our successes with stakeholders and raising the profile of the Commission’s work in Wales. This will include the development and delivery of communications actions plans with media liaison, updating web site content and social media account management.

Important InformationCurrently we are trialling hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their EHRC office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for this role or for yourself, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
