Job Description

#iwill Youth Engagement Officer

This is a great opportunity for someone who’s passionate about changing the outcomes for young people and the youth sector and ensuring they are at the centre of our work.

This is an exciting and busy time to be joining UK Youth as we have just launched our new strategy “Unlocking Youth Work” which outlines a bold ambition to impact young lives by unlocking youth work as a catalyst for change. As a result,  we are recruiting for a number of new roles designed to enable the organisation to grow, improve our ways of working and enable us to deliver to deliver our ambitious 2025 strategic plan.

Volunteering Matters and UK Youth were successful in their consortium bid to deliver key support functions to enable the #iwill movement beyond 2020. UK Youth works closely with colleagues at Volunteering Matters and the #iwill Partnership Board to engage and involve young people in youth social action opportunities.

Reporting to the Youth Leadership Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the engagement and involvement of a diverse group of young people across the #iwill Movement made up of Ambassadors and Champions. You will facilitate opportunities and events for young people to build their skills and confidence, creating an inclusive environment for young to express their views. This role will be essential in supporting and amplifying youth-led social action.

Throughout your work you will ensure that all activity and engagement with young people comply with safeguarding legislation, policies and procedures, championing safe engagement and meeting the needs of each young person. You will use digital platforms and expertise to build communities and connect networks of young people. You will ensure this work is communicated clearly to wider stakeholders and to inform the evolution of the campaign.
