Ada Ventures is a new venture capital firm, directly authorised and regulated by the FCA. We have a management company (Ada Partners LLP), and manage a fund (Ada Ventures I LP) along with four other fund-related entities.

Summary

The Head of Operations is fundamental in supporting the founding partners in driving forward the longer-term business vision and strategy. While managing short term, day to day business operations, they also exist to bring long term business goals into fruition and support the business as it scales, ultimately acting as a trusted partner that allows the founding partners (and wider team) to operate at their very best.

They are an independent worker and ambitious self-starter, thriving in unstructured environments and with a close-knit team. The role has a broad, all-encompassing remit with a high level of flexibility required due to the evolving nature of the business.

The Head of Operations also acts more broadly as a Chief of Staff to the Founding Partners and supports them in the pursuit of their vision and goals. While there may be elements of support required around core business / investment activities, this is not an investment role.

The Head of Operations should progress, subject to mutually agreed milestones into a more senior, leadership role as COO. This will be unlikely to happen until Ada Ventures Fund II.

Key responsibilities 

General
●  Develop, lead and execute on strategic projects, allowing partners to focus on the core investment business

●  Lead compliance activities and ensure ongoing upkeep

●  Broad support for founding partners - i.e. attendance in calls / meetings if unavailable or to help in prioritisation

Business Operations

●  Management of internal processes, meeting organisation and all non-investment activities

●  Daily/weekly project management, status tracking and updates

●  Driving priority actions across business sectors

  • Office management

Team

Playing a key role in developing and building the culture of Ada for all the team (inc. third parties)

  • Managing resource and venture partners

    Network / Relationships

● Ongoing support in management of relationships / client service across business sectors (with specific ownership as agreed e.g. scouts, angels)
●  Portfolio services - ensuring best in class support for our founders, putting in touch with key contacts, providing supplier recommendations, arranging timings, ensuring delivery, managing efficacy, development new and beneficial supplier relationships for our portfolio founders

●  Support in developing new, fruitful relationships for the business via ongoing networking and profiling of both individuals and business

●  Selecting suppliers and managing those relationships

●  Management of all third party relationships - e.g software tools, agencies, intermediaries 


Reporting

●  Support in development of reporting materials for key stakeholders - bringing together all key information from internal and external parties as required

Investor Relations
●  Support in running and coordinating of AGMs - content, schedule and material development as well as ensuring attendance

●  Ad hoc updates regarding important information, as required
●  Point of contact as needed (in addition to partners)

Branding and profile

●  Management of internal / external marketing resource - briefing, tracking, measurement plus relationship

●  Guardianship of Ada profile across branded materials and channels, alongside partners

●  Development and execution of event plan

●  Content creation & development

●  Supporting with  pitch decks and necessary materials to support investor relations, fundraising and business development opportunities 

Considerations 


  • This is an important operational role, and specifically not a path to an investment role within Ada Ventures 

  • You will need to be highly detail orientated

  • You will need to be a self-starter and entrepreneurial 

  • You’ll be representing Ada in the market so we will need you to subscribe to our culture and standards of behaviour 

  • We are an FCA regulated firm and there are high standards of behaviour conduct which you will need to adhere to.
