Job Description

This is an exciting and busy time to be joining UK Youth as we prepare to launch our new strategy and transform the way we work to ensure all young people are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. As a result,  we are recruiting for a number of new roles designed to enable the organisation to grow, improve our ways of working and enable us to deliver our ambitious 2025 strategic plan.

We are currently looking to recruit a People Manager into our Charity Services team on a fixed term basis for 12 months. This role is responsible for working with the Assistant Director of People to deliver the people strategy that enables staff at UK Youth to thrive in their roles and to support them to meet our vision and aims. This work will be done in partnership with all staff and working closely with the COO and CEO. The person in the role will work with the Assistant Director of People and lead on the delivery of projects within the people strategy across the whole employee lifecycle looking at how we recruit, develop, retain highly engaged staff and offboard staff. The role will lead on developing a positive and inclusive working culture and developing a practical and engaging approach to how we embed equality, diversity and inclusion actions.

We are looking for candidates who have excellent HR knowledge and experience in working in partnership with managers to deliver on key people projects and experience implementing best practice HR solutions to drive a high-performance culture. To thrive in this role, you will need to be passionate about customer service with an ability to establish professional credibility quickly with colleagues and to interact effectively with staff at all levels and across all departments. Ideally you will have a can-do attitude and be able to proactively respond to change.

Who we are

UK Youth is a leading charity that exists to ensure all young people are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. We work with others to ensure that the youth sector is strengthened, supported and that provision is youth-led, evidence-informed and delivers high-quality outcomes.

UK Youth plays a unique role in addressing; the lack of investment in the youth sector, the lack of cross-sector understanding in how youth work makes a difference and the limited opportunities to embed effective solutions. These factors lead to mass inequality of access to youth services for young people. To find more about us and how we make an impact, please visit UK Youth Website.
