Job Description

Comic Relief are looking for an experienced interaction designer to join the team responsible for digital innovation across our brands (Red Nose Day, Sport Relief, Comic Relief).

You will have the opportunity to get stuck in with teams from across the organization to shape Comic Relief’s digital innovation projects and play a key role in developing and improving our design practices. Your work will have a positive and tangible impact on Comic Relief audiences and will contribute to our ongoing drive to engage the mass UK public and raise money.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivering production design for comicrelief.com and sportrelief.com

  • Making sense of business objectives and user needs through continuous research and prototyping

  • Helping to deliver a product that satisfies these objectives and needs

  • Articulating your thinking to colleagues, other stakeholders and users

  • Prototyping ideas quickly using pen and paper, Keynote and digital prototyping tools

  • Collaborating with developers to turn your designs into working products

  • Working iteratively in an Agile environment

  • Creating seamless experiences across web, mobile and other connected devices

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:

  • Design related discipline training or degree preferred, including Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Visual Communications, Human-centered Design

  • Candidates ideally have several years of industry experience (agency or in-house design environment), proficient in multi-tasking and inter-disciplinary collaboration

  • Good understanding of both systems and storytelling projects, excellent can-do attitude with attention to detail, and the ability to deliver strategic insights

  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communications skills

  • Passion for charity and social purpose, also a good knowledge of the wider NGOs landscape
