Job Description

The Grant Funding Officer is responsible for the day to day delivery of the processes and awarding of a grant funding programme to food banks in the Trussell Trust’s network.  The officer leads a small team of grant funding assistants in the day-to-day operation of the grant programme.  This involves processing and evaluating grant applications, preparing information for grant awarding panels, communicating grant awards and ensuring timely grant payments. 

Role responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the grant funding programme, ensuring that the systems for grant processing, awarding and payment run efficiently, effectively and on time

  • Oversee the grant funding assistants (and any volunteer(s)), managing workload and standards, and ensuring consistent accurate data processing

  • Monitor the grant processing systems, associated policies and team capacity, liaising with the Grant Funding Manager to identify and implement improvements

  • Work with the Grants Comms Officer and Grant Funding Manager to ensure clear, accurate and timely communications about the grant funding programme to food banks and the Trussell Trust’s food bank-facing staff

  • Coordinate the scheduling of awarding panels and attendance by expected staff and food bank representatives  

  • Maintain strong relationships with other stakeholders and specialist teams in the Trussell Trust, facilitating grant-related communications and dialogue.
