Job Description

About Anthesis

Anthesis is the Sustainability Activator. We believe that transformative, cross-sectoral action is required to rise to the challenge of the Decisive Decade, and we exist to make sustainability happen.

Our company brings together the largest dedicated group of sustainability experts in the world, working with more than eight hundred clients, across seventeen countries. Our team combines broad and deep sustainability expertise with the commercial and operational capabilities it takes to deliver real change. Our culture is founded on the empowerment of great people, working in agile teams, in a high-ownership, high-accountability environment.

We are proud of what we have achieved so far with Anthesis, but we know we have a duty and an opportunity to contribute much more. Our success will depend on attracting, empowering and growing world-class leaders who can help to harness our capabilities and resources for transformational shared value creation.

At Anthesis we value both the wellbeing and the professional development of our people by doing our best to make Anthesis a great place to work. Our identity, values, and the quality of our work are vested in our people and we want you to thrive, develop and succeed here.

As an equal opportunity’s employer, we value diversity in our workforce and make our decisions based on skills and experience – the only thing that differentiates you is your talent and the value you bring. We understand that diverse ideas breed extraordinary results by inspiring our thinking, challenging our solutions and enhancing our culture.

Anthesis is actively seeking an ambitious and passionate Solutions Consultant to support a newly developed pre-sales or “client discovery” team; supporting both the UK and North American markets.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the operations team and reporting to the Pre-Sales Director, your role will be wide-reaching. Working closely with the Marketing team in both regions and taking ownership of the in-bound leads generated across multiple channels, you will analyse the opportunities and support our experts across the business through sales materials and proposal development. You will also have exposure to the full range of Anthesis services and become immersed in our approach to building new client relationships.

Your role will play a key part in creating a more systematic and efficient approach to growing our client base and overall business. This is a professional development opportunity: if you take on the challenge of building your fluency in our services' language, you will have full capability to take on more responsibility within the role.

Proposal support

  • Developing proposal preparation templates and materials and managing proposal processes by organising resources and keeping them up-to-date

  • Responding to specific proposals and developing a first “client discovery” draft to be reviewed by relevant community leads - providing quality control and consistency as the final checkpoint for all relevant proposal submissions

 Lead(s) Development and Management

  • Follow up on leads from in-bound enquiries, webinars, website downloads and conferences. Begin initial conversations with prospective clients and loop in the best-placed expert for hand-off as and when appropriate.

  • Fostering client relationships by checking in periodically with leads who are on a slower project timeline and sharing useful market insights

 Tracking and reporting

  • Manage a database of leads, status, services of interest, market intelligence, etc. Report on outcomes and attribution, understanding which factors contributed to successful outcomes

  • Develop a dashboard outlining sales trends in the UK and North American business over time with insights into growth areas for new leads and future clients. Help to measure deepening relationships with existing clients through development tracking

Key Requirements

In addition to ambition, a passion for sustainability and a natural analytical capability, the ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (preferred)

  • Excellent interpersonal ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Clear and concise written communications

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality

  • Exceptional organisational and time management ability

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel

  • Ability to think and work independently, while also being an enthusiastic and proactive colleague

  • Previous experience working in a consultancy setting (preferred)
