Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To visit secondary schools, specifically to build relationships with teachers in key MATs to promote and sell Collins books and digital resources, leading to an increase in sales to identified MATs and other school groups. You will be required to work closely with the Head of Schools Sales and the secondary sales team leaders.

This job role is home based.  A company car, laptop and mobile phone are provided. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • To visit teachers, Heads of Departments, subject co-ordinators and/or LA Advisors and develop/maintain strong relationships

  • To develop and maintain a good knowledge and understanding of curriculum requirements and how Collins products support them

  • To embrace and implement a ‘needs/benefit’ sales approach

  • To grow sales of Collins titles at MAT level

  • To develop relationships and increase business with existing Collins user schools, and use these to sell to other schools in the same MAT

  • To ensure targets for the number of schools evaluating Collins resources are met

  • To secure new adoptions of Collins resources across target MATs

  • To ensure targets for the number of schools visited are met

  • To ensure targets for self-made appointments are met

  • To use email and telesales appropriately to support face to face selling

  • To ensure contacts and visits made are recorded in the CRM and it is kept up to date for your target schools

  • To attend events/exhibitions and teacher meetings when necessary

  • To attend regional/national training days and sales meetings and conferences when necessary

  • To be responsible for maintenance of accounts relating to target schools, and related administration

 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstration of excellent sales skills and results

  • Sales background (ideally within Education)

Skills

  • Computer literacy including Word and Excel

  • Excellent communication skills – including good presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal/ relationship building skills

  • Driving license

 Disposition

  • Self motivated – able to work without direct supervision

  • Interested in a sales career

  • Determined and resilient

  • Commercial, driven by sales success

  • Well organised

  • Positive, energetic approach
