Citizens UK

About us

Citizens UK is the UK’s biggest, most diverse and most effective people-powered alliance. We bring communities together to work on issues that matter, from campaigning for zebra crossings on dangerous roads, to reforming the immigration system, to the Living Wage campaign. We have a track record of winning change through hundreds of local and national campaigns.

Through our theory of social change, called community organising, we train thousands of everyday people to lead change in their communities, equipping them with the skills to hold politicians and other powerholders to account. We are made up of 500+ member organisations in powerful alliances throughout the UK. Our members include schools, universities, faith groups, parents’ groups, health practices, charities, trade unions and other civil society organisations.

Our work has led to the creation of many local, regional and national campaigns and social change projects including: Living Wage Foundation, Sponsor Refugees and Parent Action (formerly PACT). This includes a network of over 14,000 accredited Living Wage employers.

We believe that through developing local leaders, we can drive nationwide change and create community-led solutions to big and small problems. Citizens UK has a growing team of professional Community Organisers and other support staff. We are always looking out for experienced and committed individuals and vacancies come up regularly.

Citizens UK is committed to being an inclusive employer. Like many employers, we are on a journey and are actively working towards our DEI strategy with our workforce, alliance members and partners.

Many of our employees enjoy flexible and hybrid working, and we are open to adapting\flexing our roles where possible to embrace a diverse workforce. If you are interested in a vacancy and wish to discuss flexible working, please contact recruitment@citizensuk.org.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK as Citizens UK is unable to sponsor visa applications.

Our Organisers work in the community and their employment is subject to a satisfactory standard\enhanced DBS check.

Asking on the job related questions not only shows you the candidate's experience, but also how they think. The fact that CVs aren't looked at and that they are anonymised makes it feel much more fair.

The questions asked seemed very relevant and were fun to answer.
