Chef/ Professional Cook

UK Youth are looking to recruit an experienced catering professional to join our small friendly catering team. Candidates should enjoy working in a young person-centred setting and have a passion for delivering high quality food to a wide variety of guests.
Working in our small friendly catering team you will be able to use your experience and ideas to develop our catering services by:
Co-designing and delivering customer driven cost-effective menus that promote healthy eating
Helping to create a dining experience that encourages social interaction (meals are served from our hot plate and eaten in our dining room)
You will also have responsibility for:
Maintaining standards to ensure we comply with all regulatory and legislative requirements
Maintaining industry knowledge to provide professional expertise on allergens
Ordering and maintaining stock levels, sourcing best value
Providing high levels of customer care, interacting politely and professionally with guests
Working Hours - Part time or full time role available
This role may require weekend working.
Various shifts available to cover
Breakfast (average shift 7-3) or
Dinner (average shift 11 - 8)
This role also has a guaranteed 2 weeks off at Christmas.

Experience
Hold a valid catering and hygiene certification
Have previous experience (min 6 months) working in a commercial catering environment
Experience of working in a customer facing role and delivering high standards of customer care
Knowledge, skills and qualities
An understanding of Food handling, allergen management and FSA requirements
Able to build and manage positive relationships with stakeholders at the appropriate level
Friendly approachable person with good organisational skills, enthusiasm, and energy, capable of working on own and working with others when required.
