Prep your hiring pipeline

Talent from diverse backgrounds is less likely to show the same signals as the talent you may be more used to, eg. studying at Oxford, or working at Google.

To get the most out of diverse sourcing you should design your hiring pipeline to assess ability directly, rather than inferring ability from biased signals.

Why diversity is important

You probably know all this already but a recap never hurts.

  • Poor diversity is a clue there may be hiring bias
  • Poor diversity dissauades talent from under-represented groups from joining you
  • There's evidence that diverse teams may perform better

Why we share this data

The Applied platform helps teams improve their hiring and reduce bias, and these statistics are part of that.

As things stand there isn't much information on where to source diverse or specialist candidates, so we've decided to publish what we have in the hope that people find it useful.

Note: This data isn't definitive

We can only see the portion of traffic through each job board that comes to us, so please treat this data as being indicative at best.
